Surprise, surprise, surprise! That's right no big rush for BigBoyFloyd to meet the 1pm Sunday deadline on making picks for Week 16 in the NFL season. With 2 or 3 games on Saturday I knew I had to check in a few days early with the winning picks you DLR readers need! Okay lets get to it with my 5 winning picks:
Philadelphia Eagles -5 at Washington Redskins +5 Over/Under 38.5
My how the phony have fallen and fallen hard in Redskins ountry. Clinton Portis is ailing and feuding with coach Jim Zorn and looks like this marriage will end in a messy and bitter divorce in the offseason. I'd put my money on Zorn being 1 and done as head coach. Over in Eagle land all is good and well with McNabb clicking on all cyliders after his embarrassing halftime benching last month against Baltimore. Redskins are sinking fast and they will lose at home, but not by 5. Take the Skins and the 5 points, also take the under.
Arizona Cardinals +8 at New England Patriots -8 Over/Under 45
Arizona cliched their playoff spot in a very weak division about 2 weeks ago, but they have looked hot and cold for about a month now and their defense as well as their running game are among the worst in the league. The Patriots have also been hot and cold at times but they still have a solid chance to come out of the AFC East as champs. Kurt Warner does not play great in cold weather, and the Cardinals as a whole do not play well on east-coast time. Take the Patriots and lay the big 8 points, also take the under.
Carolina Panthers +3 at New York Giants -3 Over/Under 37.5
2 Weeks ago I said ride the Giants until they failed to cover, well they have failed to win or cover their last 2 games and have lost a little bit of the offense's explosiveness with the loss of Plaxico "Chedder Bob" Burress. Carolina is a solid team with a great 2 running back comination, and Steve Smith at WR. This game is huge as it is for the number #1 seed in the NFC. I have to go with the Giants at home, so take the Ginats and lay the 3 points, also take the over.
Pittsburgh Steelers -2 at Tennessee Titans +2 Over/Under 34.5
All Pittsburgh does week after week, year after year is play tough defense and win. The Titans are battling some defensive injuries now and have fallen back to earth a little. Take the Steelers and lay the 2 points on the road, also take the over in points.
Baltimore Ravens +4 at Dallas Cowboys -4 Over/Under 39.5
As T.O. would say, GET YOUR POPCORN READY! The Ravens are going down to dallas to give the Cowboys a final loss in their stadium that is closing after this game. Ravens will win the game, no doubt about it bet the life savings people. Take the over, we are taking a 23-17, 27-21 type game.
