T.I. Can't Have Whatever He Likes

World-famous rap star T.I. was sentenced in Atlanta federal court Friday to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay a $100,300 fine on weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers.

The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, reached the terms of the sentence in a plea agreement with prosecutors last year.

He also was sentenced to some property forfeiture, supervised release for three years after his prison sentence, 365 days of home confinement (he has already served 305) and 1,500 hours of community service (1,030 served).

He also must undergo DNA testing, drug counseling, cannot own firearms and must submit to reasonable searches and a financial audit.

The plea agreement, which federal authorities called unique, allowed the rapper to remain out of prison for a year while he performed community service.

He is expected to begin his sentence in the next 6-8 weeks. (WTF?)

(Prosecuting) Bytches Set Me Up!!!

Federal prosecutors today asked a federal judge to send D.C. Council member Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) to jail for not filing his most recent tax returns.

Prosecutors alleged that Barry, by not filing his 2007 federal and D.C. tax returns, had violated the terms of his probation for previous tax offenses. Barry, 72, who pleaded guilty in 2005 to not filing tax returns from 1999 through 2004, has not filed such documents for eight of the last nine years, prosecutors said.

"The defendant's conduct regarding tax year 2007 is indefensible," wrote Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Zeno in a motion filed in U.S. District Court this afternoon. "It is not acceptable for any citizen to shirk a basic civil duty, let alone a former mayor and current city councilman who has been responsible in the past and continues to be responsible for spending public funds collected from District of Columbia taxpayers."

DMX is reportedly to be released from jail despite dropping the F-bomb on a judge in Florida. According to TMZ, the troubled rapper has reachd a plea deal with the judge. Time served and a $483 fine.......WTH!! Check out the story here
