Last night the Wizards trotted onto the court for a nationally televised game against their conference nemesis, Cleveland Cavaliers. Gilbert Arenas decided to play again last night eventhough the Wizards have less than 20 wins with only a week or so left in the regular season. So the Wizards win a game and now they better their record but it may cause them to get less ping pong balls which determine the order of the draft. Is is smart for the Wizards to be winning meaningless games? I think not. Others differ and think winning now is a benefit. I guess we won't know who's right until those ping pong balls decide the order in a few weeks. (You have to be a fool to think less ping pong balls is a good thing...wtf?)

The Return of Gilbert Arenas

Gilbert Arenas is planning to return to action against the Pistons this Saturday, according to Chris Miller of Comcast SportsNet."You're the first to get the truth," Arenas said in a text message. "I'm playing Saturday against Detroit. And I'm only playing home games but I will play in Cleveland. Me and Cleveland fans have this love, hate relationship." This is the closest thing to a guarantee we've heard all season, though it's doubtful he'll help fantasy owners too much -- he'll be extremely rusty, and the maximum number of games he'll play in (according to his self-made schedule) is five.
This bama better not mess up our draft positioning. He need to sit his azz down for the rest of the year to make sure he healthy for next year.

Will Jamison Be Traded?
According to SI.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers (bammas) are clearly after Antawn Jamison. They hope he will be the final piece to their puzzle to winning a NBA championship this year. I love Jamison for his game, leadership and good standing in the community but at his age and money we owe him it may not be a bad idea. That would give us money to get a younger free agent to go with a healthy Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood(fingers crossed), Caron Butler and a top draft pick next year. DLR relunctantly request that Ernie Grunfeld pulls the trigger on this deal by tomorrows trade deadline...as always...this is business, never personal.

Is Jamison On The Trading Block?
According to ESPN's Chad Ford, Jamison has a 30% chance of being traded before the deadline in 10 days. DLR personally likes Jamison game but its business never personal and 11 wins at the allstar break is unacceptable when you still have 2 of your 3 allstars on the court.Jamison signed a four-year, $50 million extension this past summer. While he has been solid, the Wizards have been terrible and they are showing no signs of pulling out of this tailspin.
If they can package Jamison's contract with Etan Thomas' or Darius Songaila's for an expiring deal, it will save them a lot of money in the long run.

Wizards Audition For The Fast and The Furious 4
The Washington Post reports: Guard Nick Young and center JaVale McGee were charged with reckless driving after being pulled over for speeding on the Dulles Access Road on Jan. 1. The incident was first reported by WJLA (Channel 7) on Monday. Under Virginia law, a driver can be charged with reckless driving for going more than 20 miles over the speed limit as well as other offenses including driving over 80 mph and racing. The speed limit on the access road is 55 mph.Is it just me or does Nick Young look like he has a touch of down syndrome?

Pray For The Wizards
The Wizards are now 10-38 after losing to the lowly Memphis Grizzlies last night...WTF is going on? Is Gilbert ever coming back? Was Caron and Jamison really All-Stars the past few years? Was Eddie Jordan underappreciated? Well atleast we can look forward to the lottery pick this year. If the Wiz get the #1 pick, who should they draft?

Fire Ernie?
The Wizards are 7-29, the fired the best coach they had in decades and the franchise player Gilbert said this weekend that he may not be coming back this season even if his knee heals. A franchise that had great promise that last few years seems to have fallen back into the curse of le boulez. So now the fans are calling for the general manager, Ernie Grunfeld head...check out these shirts that are floating around. (Where can I get one?)

Wizards wheelin and dealin!
The Wizards have traded veteran point guard Antonio Daniels to New Orleans for guards Javaris Crittenton (Memphis) and Mike James (New Orleans). The 3 way trade also includes a conditional draft pick. As a Wizard fan I am happy to see some movement although I dont really know how much these 2 can help a hurting team. Maybe Ernie Grunfield has some other tricks up his sleeve? Check out this article from the washingtonpost.com

McHale Back On The Bench
Minnesota Timberwolves coach Randy Wittman has been fired and will be replaced by GM Kevin McHale. He is the 4th coach fired this year. (Didnt the season just start? WTF?) If I'm not mistaken, this is like the 2nd or 3rd time McHale has pulled this move. Maybe ownership should look at replacing the GM this time. And did anybody think the Timberwolves were actually going to be better this year? Sadly enough, they have a better record than the Wizards who lost a heartbreaker to the Lakers Friday night and got whipped by the Bulls Saturday night like their names were Oscar De La Hoya.

DIFFERENT COACH SAME SONG

I took the time to watch a pathetic team we call the Washington Wizards play last night. And my goodness they look horrible. I don't care what anybody has to say Gilbert Arenas will not make that much of a difference once he returns. The Wizards need a new coach, a new owner, new players, new cheerleaders, a new mascot, and a new location. This can not be accepted in the DMV any longer.. I am sick of it all.. Every time you thought they were going to make a run they choked. Brandon Roy looked like Michael Jordon and the Old/Young Man Greg Oden treated McGee like he was a senior at Ballou High School trying to get a college scholarship that was never coming his way. Boy the Wizards look awful. Can we speed this season up so they can get that #1 pick that is surely coming their way? And by the way get Stevenson the hell out of here he is awful.
P.S. What the hell is Antwan doing in that pic. My God Man... This is painful..

EDDIE JORDAN GONE???? FINALLY YES!!!!
Things had to change and change fast. 1-10 is nothing to laugh at and according to sources familiar with this situation, the Washington Wizards have relieved Coach Eddie Jordan of his duties. Jordan was informed of the decision this morning. Ed Tapscott, who had carried the title of Director of Player Development but traveled with the team and essentially served as an extra assistant coach, will take over coaching duties, starting with a practice that will begin today at 11 a.m.

HOW MUCH PAIN SHOULD DC ENDURE???

DLR understands that Gilbert Arenas is not in the line-up. But 1-8 is 1-8 and that is just plain awful, horrible and painful to watch. We can not believe that one man can make that much of a difference. It is obvious that the Wizards don't have the Eastern Conference's worst record by mistake. They've earned it in a season that has been marked by fourth-quarter mishaps and an inability to close. When is it the coach's fault who continues to produce poor defense year after year? Again 1-8 is no excuse for what we've seen this year. Heck maybe some heads just need to role to get back on track. Read More.........

Boy, things are really getting bad....

The Wizards ship is sinking fast and with all the injuries, the playoffs seem like they are fading quickly. The Wiz just lost to the Heat 94-87 for the second time in 4 days dropping their record to an ugly 1-7. Only Minnesota, LA Clippers and Oaklahoma City have more losses. There is plenty of blame going around by the fans and media. For the owner and GM, was it a good move to pay Gilbert all that money only for him to miss more time with that knee? Is it the coaches fault for bad rotations, or not motivating the players? Does this team need a major shake up somehow? Will these young players with potential ever step up to expectations?
Leave a comment and let DLR know your opinion of what is wrong with our team. (SMDH at our team)

Can The (Real) Big Three Do It Again?
ESPN has released its first NBA Power Rankings and of course the defending champion Celtics are ranked #1 with the Lakers right behind at #2. The Hornets, Cavs and Spurs round out the top 5. The Washington Wizards are at #15. The season starts Wednesday. Are you ready for some basketball?

Wizards of Odds
Click here to check out ESPN's season preview of the Washington Wizards. Most of the analyst have them not making the playoffs or just getting in as an 8th seed. I love the Wizards but I can't even argue with that analysis. The rest of the East made moves while the Wizards stayed the same and the same are injured. The Wiz are going to need alot of magic to come out of the East this year.

The Curse of Le Boulez
Brenda(n) Haywood may miss the whole season after having wrist surgery yesterday. This means that Etan Thomas who missed all of last season because of open heart surgery would be the starter. Don't forget Gilbert is out until December or January too. This may be a long season for the Wiz if the injury bug doesn't go away.

Wiz Kids
The Washington Wizards kick off their 2008-2009 season with a preseason game 8:30 est tonight on Comcast against the Dallas Mavericks. Don't look for much action from the starters after the first half but it will be interesting to see the return of Etan Thomas. He will see his first action after sitting out all of last year after a heart operation. Also, look out for DMV's own Demarr Johnson as he attempts to make the roster.

Agent Zero Out First Month of the Season

Gilbert Arenas had surgery to repair damage in his knee that seems to never get better. I sure hope the Wiz didn't give $111 milli to a player who knee will never get better. Click here for story.

Why Can't The Wiz Make Trades Like This?

Marcus Camby was traded to the L.A. Clippers for like a bucket of chicken, a stack of waffles and a dime bag. What do the Wizards need more than anything? A shot blocking center that can rebound...I'm sure old Abe had some sweet cheeba he could of added to make the Nuggets a better deal...WTF?!
