TROUBLE IN REDSKINS CAMP

The Tennessee Titans have asked the NFL to consider tampering charges against the Washington Redskins in the signing of free agent defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation. According to the report, the Titans did not file a formal grievance with the NFL over the Redskins' quick agreement with Haynesworth, which was reached just hours after the league's free agent period began. Instead, the team provided the league with newspaper articles and audio from a Washington, D.C.-area radio station -- evidence the Titans say implies Washington had improper contact with Haynesworth before free agency began at 12 a.m. on Feb. 27. The NFL indicated to the Titans that it planned to look into the allegations, according to the report.

Haynesworth, considered the prize of the 2009 free agent class, agreed to a $100 million contract with the Redskins five hours into free agency. Haynesworth said last month that he didn't think the Redskins were guilty of tampering, according to the newspaper. He said a meeting between his agent and Redskins owner Daniel Snyder at the scouting combine a week before free agency began was about wide receiver Malcolm Kelly, another of Speck's clients. "All I know is the Redskins called my agent at 11:04 p.m. Nashville time [12:04 a.m. ET] and they started negotiating then,'' he said, according to The Tennessean. "They weren't anywhere close in the first couple of hours and then they got serious. Chad worked the deal then and it worked out.''

DLR NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's just been reported that the Washington Redskins are actively pursuing a trade involving Former Denver Broncos Quarterback Jay Cutler. One source said that the Redskins are trying to complete the deal as quickly as possible. Just think the Redskins have been known to have good ties in Denver i.e. "Clinton Portis". This would turn the NFC East upside down bringing the Redskins possible to the top of the division, but lets not forget Jay Cutler has shown flashes of sandlot football meaning he can give you a 6 INT game quick and then he can come back the very next game and burn your city down.

It's was also said that Washington is even entertaining involving a third team which could involve a trade with current QB Jason Campbell. Now comparing the two Campbell had a great year and Cutler cried all year, so it could be a pick your poison type of situation but the only thing that make Jay Cutler a standout in this matter is HE'S A BONOFIED QUARTERBACK...

Cutler To The Redskins?

The Denver Broncos finally gave up on this game of "he said, we said" and have agreed to let Jay Cutler go. As most of you know Cutler and Bronco management have been fighting ever since new coach Josh McDaniel came aboard and was thinking of bringing Matt Cassel along with him. The Denver brass announced that they would trade Cutler to any interested team, which in this case be many. Cutler would be a nice fit for such clubs as Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Jets, Bears and maybe even the mighty Redskins? (ya never know)

Westbrook Doesn't Like Being Called Gay

Michael Westbrook was on MTV's Bully Beatdown the other night. Westbrook is a Tae Kwon Do black belt and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt. If you remember back in the 90's when Westbrook beat up his fellow teammate Stephen Davis for calling him gay then by the looks of this fight the bully must of called him gay too. Click here to check out the video.

The Agony of Defeat

So the Cowboys lost in humiliating fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday in a win and in game for the playoffs. Dallas Superbowl aspirations are put on hold for another year while they will be forced to answer some tough questions about their QB, head coach and offensive coordinator. Also, the Redskins lost yesterday to the 49ers to end their once promising season at 8-8. They have the same tough questions to answer as the Cowboys. Here are some other noteworthy things that happened in the league as we head into the postseason.

-Jets lost to Miami; Pennington gets his revenge, Jets fire coach, Parcells is a genius and will Brett Favre be back

-Chargers make the playoffs and Denver crash and burn

-Vikings win NFC North with help of resurgent QB Tavaris Jackson; Bears defense crumbles in the hands of the Texans

-Browns fire Crennel
-Lions went 0-16 for the first time in NFL history; needless to say they fired their coach

Since the Cowboys are out the playoffs, I hope that somehow the playoffs would be cancelled so I won't be forced to watch another team hoist the Lombardi trophy this year. Oh the pain! (Jerry please get Jimmy Johnson on the phone now!)

Gone Fishin

The Washington Porkskin season is officially over. They actually gave the Dallas Cowboys an early Xmas gift by beating the Philadelphia Beagles on Sunday to give Dallas one last shot to make the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Porkskins have yet another offseason to think about how they can get better. Should they blow up the team? Will the fire their head coach? All questions that begin this week while other teams still fight on for Super Bowl immortality. Porkskins...not so much.
P.S. Cooley still Nelsonish!

R.I.P. Sammy Baugh

Slingin' Sammy Baugh, the ultimate three-way threat who revolutionized the use of the forward pass as a Hall of Fame quarterback for the Washington Redskins, died Wednesday night. He was 94. After starring at TCU, "Slingin' Sammy" played with the Redskins from 1937 to 1952, leading them to the NFL title in his rookie season and again in 1942. His NFL titles should not be confused with Super Bowls. They are very different as you can see by the leather helmet.

Portis vs Zorn

Yesterday Clinton Portis went on Coach Zorn during John Thompson radio show. In so many words Portis said that it was a bullshyt reason that Zorn gave about him not playing him because he didnt practice. Portis never practices. It some serious dissention in the ranks. Even Smoot is upset about his playing time. Will Zorn making it to next season? Will Danny boy side with the players or the coach? Only time will tell...stay tuned next week for "As The Porkskins Turn".

Cowboys Experience Heartache; Redskins Have No Heart

The Dallas Cowboys were on the verge of an impressive December road victory against the #1 defense in the league and then the ghost of Tony Romo's past showed up. With 2 minutes left in the game and the Cowboys trying to march down the field to win the game that they dominated on both sides of the field until the 4th quarter, Romo threw his 3rd interception of the game and it went for 6 pts the other way. WTF? Although the Cowboys lost the game, they still moved into the final NFC playoff spot with 3 weeks to go because the Falcons lost a division game. So while the Cowboys are surely upset by the loss atleast they still have hope with 3 games remaining...the Redskins...not so much. The only comment I have about this game is why does Clinton Portis always cry hurt during important games they are losing and have to win. I think Portis is a good back but in times like this you have to question that mans heart. Looks like another late season collapse. (lets hope the Cowboys don't match that tradition...theirs actually might be worst)

In related news, Chris Samuels is out for the season. He suffered a 50-percent tear of his triceps and will undergo surgery. When it rains, it pours.

Is The Redskins Season Over?

After getting off to a fast start, the Washington Red(Pork)skins have lost 3 of their last 4 games to leave them at 7-5. They now trail the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons (both 8-4) for the final playoff spot. Their offense is nonexistent, their star running back is hurt, their rookie head coach is overmatched and their quarterback has regressed and on top of that their 2nd best player, tight end (no pun intended) Chris Cooley is a fruitcake. The defense is pretty good but they can't do it by themselves. Is this another year that Daniel Snyder is forced to face the reality of a team built for Madden and not the NFL? Is their any hope for this dismal franchise?

P.S. HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?!!!

Gone but not forgotten!!!

As the holiday approaches and families come together DLR takes time to remember Sean Taylor, who was slain in a robbery gone wrong a year ago. Condolences to his biological family and his Redskins family. Who knows what would have happened with Sean and LaRon Laundry playing for years to come. Man we will never see this guy in his prime because of some hatin azz shyt by some young bucks. We all need to stop the craziness!

We will never forget this dude (tears forming in my eyes).

RIP SEAN TAYLOR!

Will Portis Play Sunday?

The five-time Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys roll into Porkskin Stadium Sunday night to face the surprising 6-2 Foreskins for a NFC East matchup. While the Cowboys seem to be getting healthy with the return of Pro Bowl QB Tony Romo, Pro Bowl CB Terrence Newman and rookie sensation Felix Jones all returning from injury, it looks like Clinton Portis may miss the game with a sprained knee. I hope he can atleast start the game so the Cowboys defense will have the honor of putting him out the game. This week will begin the Cowboys run to the Superbowl. HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?!!!!

Doomsday in Dallas

Looks like another year of hoping to win a Playoff game if they can make it to the playoff. "PLAYOFFS... PLAYOFFS... What are you talking about PLAYOFFS!!! They might not even make the playoffs. How fast the so called mighty can fall. Once projected as Superbowl contenders the Dallas Cowboys are starting to look more like Pretenders. We will see in two weeks when QB, Tony Romo, returns with RB. Felix Jones to play the 6-2 possibly 7-2 or 6-3 Washington Redskins. If the Redskins beat the Cowboys again this year, Washington can say they put the Dallas Cowboys out of the playoffs this year. For more on the agony of Dallas....

MOVIN' AND GROOVIN...

DLR would like to give Big Props to Clinton Portis for his 175 yard and 1 TD day. Looks like the Washington Redskins are ready to make a run for that championship. For more on this story.

New Redskins?

Former league MVP Shaun Alexander will be working out a Porkskin Park today in hopes of replacing the injured Ladell Betts. He will have a fan in Hank Williams, Jr. who was spotted sporting a Porkskin jersey at the McCain/Palin rally in Richmond, VA. yesterday. Yet another Porkskin fan who endorses McCain...wtf?

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Well, well, well!

It seems the sports writers have finally come to their senses!! The new ESPN power rankings are out and the WASHINGTON REDSKINS (WOOO! sorry I get excited about my Skins!!) have finally bumped out the sputtering Cowgirls, I mean Cowboys, from their very undeserved spot! LOL Yes, the Skins are only #3, but the 2 teams ahead of them are undefeated. One of them being the superbowl champs... So I ain't mad at 'em!
Are the rankings finally coming more in line with how they should be? Check out the article from ESPN and let DLR know what you think?

Anyone for Eagle meat?

Ha, the mighty Redskins (4-1) beat the Eagles yet again 23-17. And that is after 3 division games on the road. Here we come...
