What to watch in sports: Weekend Edition!!


Finally the weekend is here (damn I need a drink) and there will be plenty of sporting events to watch on the tube cuz it will be a rainy one. We have the Caps in the 2nd round of playoff action, the Bulls/Celtics series conclusion and start of the 2nd round, and we have some big time boxing going on as Ricky Hatton faces Manny Pacquiao. Atlanta at Miami (espn@8pm) "Last game the Hawks smashed the Heat and Josh Smith attempted to do a "dunk contest" type of dunk in the last couple of minutes of the blowout. Even though he missed the dunk the Heat felt like they were showboating and vowed to get even. So I would defiantly stay tuned to this one."

What to watch in sports: Weekend Edition!!


The NBA and NHL playoffs are in full swing and the intensity level is high. The Celtics rebound in strong fashion and the Dallas Mavs blowout the Spurs at home. The Lakers and Cavs look like they will meet in the Finals as the most dominate team but one never knows in a 7 game series. And who could forget the NFL DRAFT this Sat. and Sun...enough said.

DLR Weekend Sports Recap


-#2 Capitals go down 0-2 to #7 New York and loose home ice.
-The Celtics lose to Chicago Bulls in OT; Derrick Rose scores 36pts to lead Bulls.
-NBA playoffs 4 away teams upset the home team taking home court advantage; Bulls, 76ers, Mavs, Rockets.
-Yankees lose to the Indians 22-4 in the new Yankee stadium giving up 14 runs in one inning.
-Nationals are 1-10 with the worst record in the league.

What to watch in sports: Weekend Edition!!


IT'S PLAYOFF TIME BABY! This weekend we have a full load of games on TV. The NBA playoffs kick off on Saturday with 8 teams playing and 8 more on Sunday. The hockey playoffs have already started and DMV's own Washington Capitals took an L in game 1 to lose home ice advantage (SMH can anyone around here win anything?). The Caps look to bounce back in game 2 Saturday. Definately stock up on the beverages cuz its going to be a great weekend.

What to watch in sports: Weekend Edition!!


Playoff time is here. Next week ends the regular season for hockey and basketball. Teams will be playing for playoff spots and playoff position this week so there will be plenty of action on the tubes. In other news baseball has started this week and the Nationals are o-3 (of course), while the Orioles have taken 2-3 games from the Yankees.

DLR would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Nick Adenhart from the LA Angels who passed away from a car accident involving a person driving under the influence.

What to watch in sports: Master's Edition


In the sporting world the month of April brings us many great events. The NBA playoffs, the NCAA championship game, the NFL draft and one of the most watched events: the Masters golf tournament. The Masters is played in Augusta, Georgia on one of the most beautiful and famous courses in the world. Yes folks this is the creme de la creme (LOL) of the golfing world. Tiger Woods will be trying to win the green jacket for the first time in 3 years from last years winner Trevor Immelman. So for the experienced and inexperienced golf fan alike check out the schedule for this great tournament below.

What to watch in sports: Thursday Edition!!


The second round of the NCAA tournament starts today and its been a relatively safe tourney as far as upsets go. Still there have been many fans who lost out on the likes of Wake Forest but should have no fear if they picked some of the higher ranked teams going to the final four. In the NBA we have 4 possible playoff teams on the tube tonight in Chicago, Miami, Phoenix, and Trailblazers. So even though it is Thursday, time to get the weekend started with some drinks, food and plenty of basketball on TV.

What to watch in sports...Weekend Edition!!


Happy Friday to all! This is a pretty great weekend for all of you sports fans out there. We have loads of basketball for your viewing pleasure. Of course all of the college basketball conference tournaments are on and there will be some great games. The game last night between UConn and Syracuse in particular was a classic. If you didn't watch, the game went to 6, yes 6 overtimes and the 'Cuse finally pulled away the winner. I managed to watch 5 of them but ended up passing out on the couch for the final OT. Get ready for the March madness cuz here it comes!

Another weekend is upon us and we find Tiger Woods ousted from the Accenture Match Play Championship yesterday. This was his first tournament back since surgery. He looked good on some shots but the rust prevailed as he went down to Tim Clark. Maryland Terps had a big win over North Carolina only to lose to Duke after a tough game. Spring training has started and the Redskins have signed Big Albert Haynesworth. Also rumors of Gil Arenas playing full speed in practice? "What to watch in sports" Weekend Edition!!


Its Friday baby!! 2 days away from the annoying bosses, annoying coworkers and annoying tasks. Time to sit back and relax and watch some sports. This weekends team is the Capitals. All you Washington DC area fans need to get on board with the Capitals. I'm not saying you need to watch all the games or even a whole game but these dudes are the only bona fide team that look like they have a championship presence. They have a Jordanesque super star (Ovechkin), loads of young talent and gritty veterans to stablize the team. The Wizards, Nats and Redskins we can only hope for good things but the Caps may be the team to bring a championship parade to DC.

"What to watch in sports" Weekend Edition


Its valentine weekend and unless you are caught up with your boo, there will be plenty of sporting action going on over the next 3 days. With the unusual springtime weather we are having in the DMV area comes the start of training camp for baseball players and steroid scandals. This HGH thing is getting out of control but I digress because winter is still here and baseball doesn't start opening day until April so lets focus on basketball.

The NBA all-star weekend will be shown on TNT and ESPN starting tonight, so watch out for the slam dunk contests, rookies vs sophmores and the big game of stars on Sunday. In college we have some pretty big matchups like G'Town vs Syracuse and UCLA at Arizona. The full run down is below.

Its Friday baby!!! Counting down the hours till I can get to my favorite watering hole and knock a few back. My favorite time of week. Plenty of basketball action to fill our time until Monday such as Lakers at Cleveland on Sunday. For you football junkies, you enjoyed a great Superbowl game last week but you have one more game before we close the curtain on the NFL season. Once again its on! The 2008 Finals repeat is tonight in Boston, Mass. as the Lakers take on the Celtics in a Thursday night showdown. This is definitely the game of the night but you also have a mix of men's basketball and also Pat Summit of the Tennessee Lady Vols is going for 1000 wins (that is if you are into women's college basketball...Ha) So here you have it Thursday nights sporting events!
