Michael Vick To Become Peta Spokesman

This is not a joke. I repeat this is not a joke...however it is funny as hell.

According to AdAge.com, Michael Vick is in talks to become the new spokesman for PETA. The disgraced one-time NFL superstar serving prison time for funding an illegal dog-fighting ring is primed to do public-service ads for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals upon his release later this month. According to three people with knowledge of the matter, the proposed endorsement is part of a comprehensive PR scheme aimed at rehabilitating the quarterback's image and gaining him re-admission to the league that banned him from playing. Another baby momma went shopping with 50 just to expose Ross for a fraud. Now the Real Rick Ross is getting ready to be released in a couple of day and I hear he may get involved into the rap world. WTF for I don't now maybe he want residuals on his name... LOL

All I can say is I told you people day 1 that Officer Ricky's album was hot and now it on top.. Boy DLR is always on point. (but I digress)...


Now Mr. Shady records is and will always be what he is and we can't do anything about that but Eminem has put out some good music from time to time. So I am a little confused as to why Rick Ross is going after Em and not 50...I guess when you can't beat a man you try to go after the weakest link but the only thing wrong with this is 50 is considered the weakest link in this group. And I think Rick Ross is scared as heck of 50 cent now. The dude wont even really address any of the personal attacks that 50 has been doing to him

Supreme Decision

President Obama has more on his plate than a fat kid at a buffet. He's now has to deal with selecting a Supreme Court Justice now that Justice Souter has stepped down. DLR would like to suggest Judge Joe Brown to the highest court in the land. Judge Joe was born in the DMV (DC to be exact) but moved to South Central where he grew up with the real Boyz N Tha Hood. Or what about Judge Mathis. He a certified OG where he made it cold in the "D". Both of these Judges would keep it real on the Supreme Court. Hell...how about Judge Hatchett as a choice too, Justice Milf rings a nice bell. So make sure you call your local congressman and suggest one of these "real" judges.

Last night was on of the best Playoffs series I've seen in a very long time. Trying to avoid elimination in Game 6, Chicago lived up to its name and played just like STUBBORN BULLS. Game 6 was so intense, so compelling and so exhausting that the crowd of 23,430 needed a post-victory IV transfusion just to get home from the United Center. I said it once and I will say it again this series has had everything you could possibly think of; FIGHTS, ELBOWS, STITCHES, FLAGRANT FOUL, TECHNICAL FOULS, BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS. Everything you can think of has just about happened in the series.

Now there is even a rumor that the injured Kevin Garnett might attempt a Game 7 return. Boy if this isn't the icing on the cake for one of the best series ever I don't know what is. Ray Allen went off last night and practically put the team on his back. Allen made 18-of-32 shots, nine of them from the Land of Treys, which tied an all-time playoff record. "So far, it's one of the best series I've ever been a part of,'' said Allen. One of the best? I just want someone to show me a video of any other playoff game that can compare? Anyway, the best thing about this series is that there will be a Game 7. The worst thing? There won't be a Game 8.

And last but not least this game will be taking place on the same night as one of the most anticipated fights in a long time Manny Pacquiao & Ricky Hatton. I just hope you have TiVo.. For the fight that is.. LOL

Its on... "Sid the Kid" vs "Alexander the Great"

The NHL league officials are feeling pretty good as the hockey gods have smiled down upon them giving them a great 2nd round match up in the Washington Caps vs Pittsburgh Penguins. The reason this is so great is because 2 of the leagues super stars, Alex Ovechkin (DC) and Sid Crosby (Pit) will face each other in a 7 game battle. This is basically the Lebron and Kobe of the NHL going head to head. Another interesting factor is the fact that these 2 superstars HATE each other and look for any opportunity to take each other out. Hockey fans across the US will love it, but of course our folks from the DMV will be pulling for the Caps to bring a Championship to DC. So even if you don't go to the games or watch, make sure you read the papers or see the highlights on TV cuz this will be a great series!

2 Mo. County teens try to blow up school!

Two teens were arrested for attempted murder and arson in an apparent plan to blow up Springbrook High school and kill the principal and guidance counselor. Firefighters respond to an alarm from a fire set in the boys locker room on Tuesday. In the confusion the two boys tried to sneak away but was caught by a school official. Police then searched the home of the kids and found chemicals for bombs, a site plane of the school and notes about planning the attack.

WTF is going on with the youth of today? I don't remember the principal or guidance counselor ever doing anything that made me want to kill them and a bunch of other innocent kids. Man this shyt is crazy. The two youths Yonata Getachew age 18 and Anthony Torrence 17 will be charged as adults and will be in court today.

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST SERIES SO FAR

I'm not sure if you folks have been watching the NBA Playoffs this year. But there is a battle going on right now that has everything basketball has to offer such as; BLOOD, MISSING TEETH, BUSTED LIPS, and STITCHED UP EYES. And this is just on the Chicago Bulls side.. The Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls have given us everything you can ask for. Last night Boston took control of the series with a 3-2 lead over the Chicago. And just for the heck of it, this series has given us three straight games of OVER-TIME action that has only been determined by 2 or 3 point.. WOW!!!!!!



You have to give the bulls credit also because they are giving the defending Champs all they can handle. Granted the Celtics have a lot of injuries that make me say how are they still winning. And for the life of me I can't understand why you would not Double Paul Pierce with only seconds to go in the game. The man has killed them twice in this series. Ray "Jesus Shuttlesworth" Allen has been up and down but has given the Celtics a spark in the forth quarter of each game to set the tone. Derrick Rose has been playing like the Rookie of the Year without question and with the help of Joakim Noah, Tyson Thomas, Brad Miller and Ben Gordon, hell Boston barely has it's head above water.

I'll just say that game 6 is a must see Thursday on TNT..

End of an Era?

Throughout the past decade of the new millennium the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs were a sure bet to go to the NBA playoffs, make some noise and in 4 cases win the NBA titles. Back to the present we see the Pistons barely make the playoffs at #8 and then get swept by the Cavaliers. Last night the Spurs who have been down lost 4-1 to the Dallas Mavs at home. These teams have had a GREAT run but the question is are they done?

The Pistons had made to the playoffs 7 years in a row and 6 of those years they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. They were a defensive minded team that everyone in the East feared and that swagger finally won them a trophy in 2004.
With the loss of key reserve players and of course age the Pistons made some moves to ignite the team even though they were still winning. The biggest move was trading Billups to get Allen Iverson (in his elder years). This move ended up hurting Detroit as Lebron and crew swept through the proud organization and Iverson didnt play one minute in the playoffs. So now the Pistons have an aging Wallace, Hamilton, bench players like Kwame Brown (LOL) and need to find out where its going this off season. On the bright side they will have $20 Mil in cap room from Iversons expiring contract.

The Spurs are arguably the best team of the last 10 years (besides the Lakers). They have won 3 titles (even won back to back years) this decade and a staple team in the Western playoffs...enough said about their accomplishments. Again we come to the present and we have Tim Duncan missing an open dunk last night, and the Spurs losing at home in the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. In game 3 Duncan actually ended the game with 4PTS and 2REB. Sure the Spurs big 3 can still do it, but at age 33 Duncan will start to slow down soon and he already has 2 bad knees. Manu is getting up in age but still solid. The only problem is that he keep getting hurt. No problems with Tony Parker but besides those 3 the team cannot maintain on a consistent level. The thing that could really hurt the Spurs is the fact that they are still pretty good and should make the playoffs but this will prevent them from getting a high draft pick to continue dominance in the future.

So again I ask is this the end of an era for 2 dominating teams, or will management and coaches be able to keep the teams in the running over the next couple of years? Whatever happens hats off for a great run in the 2000's.

Clipse Associate Busted For Leading $10 Mil Drug Ring.
Anthony “Geezy” Gonzalez, a man with ties to rap group the Clipse, has been charged with running a $10 million drug ring, according to The Virginia-Pilot.

Gonzalez is believed to be the mastermind behind an illegal operation, allegedly selling close to a ton of marijuana and 100 pounds of cocaine out of his recently closed Virginia Beach night club Encore Lounge for the last six years. Known for its violent atmosphere, the business folded after racking up close to 100 incidents of violence, shootings, drug dealing and disorderly conduct.

In the U.S. District Court’s 82-count indictment, it reads that Gonzalez purchased the club for 80 pounds of marijuana and $40,000 in alleged drug money.
In addition to the drug charges, Gonzalez is being accused of laundering money through his management company, Soul Providers, a company listed as the Clipse’ booking agent on their MySpace page.

Along with Gonzalez, a police officer whose name is unavailable, as well as six others, were charged in the sprawling 60-page indictment. As of yesterday, authorities were still searching for Gonzalez. Four of the other suspects have already had hearings.

Veteran Republican Sen. Arlen Specter disclosed plans Tuesday to switch parties, a move intended to boost his chances of winning re-election next year that will also push Democrats closer to a 60-vote filibuster-resistant majority.

DLR was wondering why would he just up and change sides.. Well it turns out Sen. Specter had that answered also. "I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans,"

And you didn't know this before the election. SMDH!!!! To me this is just a stunt to stay in office. Someone afraid of feeling the recession if he remains on the wrong side of the party.

A TERRIBLE MISTAKE...

Yesterday a replica of President Obama's plane "Air Force One" was seen flying over New York at a very low altitude with a fighter jet in pursue.


Turns out that The White House forgot to inform the residents of New York that they were just doing this to get a photo shot. A terrifyingly bizarre military photo shot.. WTF!!! Aren't we still at war with Iraq because of a two lowing flying planes that took out one of our most historic locations...THE WORLD TRADE CENTERS.

The scare sent office workers fleeing from their buildings fearing a new 9/11-type attack was about to happen all over again. When the reports first came out not even the White House had any indication of what was taking place and by the end of the day all they could do was say 'WE APOLOGIZE"...SMDH!!!!

GAME 5 WHO WILL STAY ALIVE

Game 5's don't have the win-or-go-home luster of a Game 7, but make no mistake about it, they're nearly just as important.

Winning a Game 5 gives a team complete control as well as two opportunities to clinch the given series. The Celtics found that out more than anyone last season, having won three of their four Game 5's (all at home) during their championship run.

When the ball goes up at 7 p.m. tonight in the TD Banknorth Garden, Celtics fans will be hoping that trend carries over to this season's playoff run and helps Boston grab a 3-2 series lead over the Chicago Bulls

Game 7 of the Capitals/Rangers series is tonight and the winner takes all. This has been a good series but it seems as if the Caps have been dominating. Whenever they win its by at least 2-3 goals whereas when the Rangers win it is by one goal. Tonight's game will be played in DC and comes on CSN at 7pm. If you didn't see last game, the Caps will have to play without Donald Brashear, who was suspended 6 games (a little excessive isn't it) for a blind side hit on Ranger Blair Betts.

Alex Ovechkin has been starting to heat up as well the Caps offense and the NY defense seems to be deflating, but it all comes down to tonight, so lets go DMV rally behind those CAPS!!!!

Madden Curse Double Play

If you are a fan of the Cardinals are Steelers than you may not be too happy to see two of your players gracing the cover of this years Madden. Its been long believed that whomever graces the cover will fall victim to the Madden Curse. Here's a history of the curse:

Prior to 1999, every annual installment of the Madden NFL series primarily featured John Madden on its cover.[17] In 1999, Electronic Arts selected Garrison Hearst to appear on the cover, and has since featured one of the league’s top players on every annual installment.[18] Since then, certain players have experienced a decline in performance, usually due to an injury. For example, quarterback Michael Vick appeared on the cover of Madden NFL 2004, and suffered a leg injury that sidelined him for most of the 2004 season.[18] In a similar example, running back Shaun Alexander, then the league’s reigning Most Valuable Player, was featured on the cover of Madden NFL 2007, and sustained a foot injury that caused him to miss six starts.[19] As a result, Alexander’s rushing statistics were substantially less than those from the previous season.[19]

When asked about the “Madden Curse”, Chris Erb, the EA Sports director of marketing, commented, “I don't know that we believe in the curse. The players don't believe in the curse”[20] Greg Pearson, a writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, commented that the string of injuries that Madden cover athletes experience can be attributed to the physical-nature of football.[20] Alexander himself has claimed, “Do you want to be hurt and on the cover, or just hurt?".[20] When Vince Young appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to officially announce that he would appear on the cover of Madden NFL 2008, he derided allegations of becoming the curse’s next victim, and stated, “I done prayed about it and we're gonna go home and try to get to the playoffs and try to get to the Super Bowl. We'll see what happens."(he's since been benched as starter) In 2007, GameSpot and CNBC reported that a large number of LaDainian Tomlinson's fans, who believed in the Madden Curse, were strongly opposed to EA Sports' initial decision to feature him on the 2008 cover, so much that a fan created SaveLTfromMadden.com to voice their disdain.[23][24][25] Tomlinson eventually declined the offer, but stated it was solely due to contract negotiations.

Brett Favre graced the cover of Madden 2009. He is depicted on the cover in his uniform with the Green Bay Packers; however, he played the 2008 NFL season with the New York Jets. After going 8-3 to start the season, Favre apparently developed a then-undiagnosed shoulder injury, which resulted in the Jets losing four of their final five games, and missing the 2008 NFL playoffs.

KOBE Bryant has slam-dunked Spike Lee right before the taping of “Kobe: Doin Work” by demanding creative control over the filming/documentary and forcing Spike to drive to his house to beg for a meeting to save the project. My man Spike Lee, worked for months to get permission from Bryant, the Lakers team, coach Phil Jackson, the NBA and ESPN, which is supposed to air the day-in-the-life documentary on May 16. He even had the director had to flyto Los Angeles, where 30 cameras were in place for the April 13, 2008, Lakers game against the San Antonio Spurs. But suddenly Bryant said he wouldn’t cooperate unless he was granted creative control, sources said. What the hell does Kobe know about creative control in a Spike Lee joint. Spike tried several times to call Bryant, But the bama wouldn't even answer his damn phone. So Lee, at the suggestion of ESPN broadcaster Stephen A. Smith, drove to Bryant’s house in a gated community, where Bryant refused to see him, Now if that aint some Bitchazzness then WTF is. Come on Kobe you might want to go on and cooperate because youR season is going to end in Cleveland at the hands of The King. Maybe Spike should have just went with the Shaq approach and asked you to just "TELL HIM HOW HIS ASS TASTE:"..
