Jay-Z Performing In The DMV

Avid Obama supporter Jay-Z is headed to Washington, D.C. later this month to perform on the eve of the President-elect’s inauguration ceremony.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the Brooklyn MC will be rocking the Warner Theatre on January 19 along with a live band. Tickets for the show, sponsored by Hov’s business partners, Live Nation, will go on sale this Friday (1/9) at 10 a.m.

R.I.P. Shakir Stewart

DLR would like to send its condolences to the family and friends of Def Jam Vice President Shakir Stewart. Shakir was the successor to Jay-Z at Def Jam and died Saturday (November 1) of an apparent suicide. According to various reports, his body was found in his bathroom of his house in Marietta, Georgia. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He responsible for the signing of Rick Ross and Young Jeezy. He must of had some serious problems to have a dream job like that and commit suicide. You just never know the pain people have in their heart.
