Yesterday, the reserves for the NBA All-Star game was announced. Surprisingly there was no Carmelo Anthony or Steve Nash. Do you think they should have made it? Let DLR know.

A TASTE OF HONEY... SORRY LISA RAYE!!!

WHO IS THE MOST FAMOUS LIVING ICON????

Barack Obama is the most famous living person in the history of the world.
I’m not trying to induce a flash back of Ali or MLK, but whether you measure fame in terms of saturation or sheer numbers, it seems indisputable to me that more people know at least something about the new American president than anyone alive, at this point—or any—in the planet’s existence.

The First 100

We all know that President Barack Obama has assumed the presidency at a time when that pressure cooker of a job is even more so right now because of the worst recession since the Great Depression and two foreign wars. So Mad Magazine’s new Obama cover spoofs the notion of the president’s first 100 days but accelerates it to his first “100 minutes.”

"PROM QUEEN" is a HIT!!! Crank that Weezy Wee!!

Word is that Lil Wayne has been performing his new ROCK hit "Prom Queen" and the fans love it. Now this is a real crossover in the music industry. From hardcore Rap artist to Rock-n-Roll wow not many folks can make that type of change in music and get good reviews from it. DLR has posted the song for the DMV and we've heard the song and have to agree that it is surely going to be a hit.

YOU'RE NOT MY DADDY!!!!

There has been rumor's swirling the Kelly Rowland and Shasha Fierce..aka.. Beyonce haven't been the best of pals lately and DLR just received notice that Kelly has given her Manager Mr. Matthew Knowles (Beyonce's Daddy) his walking papers.. In the words of Donald Trump.. "Your Fired". haha..

Kelly has said the Mr. Knowles hasn't put forth the time needed to help with her career and was only really focused on his daughter. Family does come first right?? Ms. Rowland is the last member from Destiny Child who still has some kind of music career left. But she's been fading fast and this might have been the boost she needs to get back on track.. I'll say that her last album wasn't bad at all, sounded a lot like B. but not bad at all..

JACKIE O... MY GOODNESS!!!!!

25 Cent > 50 Cent in the DMV

Jazz legend Duke Ellington has a 25-cent piece honoring Washington, D.C., is the latest coin released by the U.S. Mint. The quarter, with native Washingtonian Duke Ellington, is inscribed with the city’s motto, “Justice for all.” Those interested can buy bags of up to 1,000 quarters. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D.C.’s non-voting member of the House, said that a gala to celebrate the new Duke Ellington coin will be announced soon. *wonders when the hell did D.C. gets coins*

Leading State for Black Homicides

If you are a black, you may want to stay out of Pennsylvania. A new study finds that Pennsylvania once again leads all other states in the rate of Black homicides. Analyzing FBI data, the nonprofit Violence Policy Center, a gun-control advocacy group, found that there were nearly 37 homicides per 100,000 Black residents in 2006. Running a close second and third were Michigan and Indiana.

Orange Chicken of the Week

"They See Me Rollin, They Hatin..."

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that police officers have leeway to frisk a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation even if nothing indicates the passenger has committed a crime or is about to do so. The court on Monday unanimously overruled an Arizona appeals court that threw out evidence found during such an encounter. The case involved a 2002 pat-down search of an Eloy, Ariz., man by an Oro Valley police officer, who found a gun and marijuana. The justices accepted Arizona's argument that traffic stops are inherently dangerous for police and that pat-downs are permissible when an officer has a reasonable suspicion that the passenger may be armed and dangerous. The pat-down is allowed if the police "harbor reasonable suspicion that a person subjected to the frisk is armed, and therefore dangerous to the safety of the police and public," Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said.
Bottomline: Frisk your boys before they get in your car cause their azz might be ridin dirty and you don't want to get caught up.

P.S. If you live in the DMV, this ruling changes nothing. They been searching everyone in the car.

The T.O. Show

My man T.O. (atleast until we cut him) of the 5-Time Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys (go Cardinals) has been given his own reality show. The Terrell Owens Project is set to premiere in the summer of 2009 on VH1. (note to T.O.-Don't be crying or doing no nelsonish stuff on the show...can't be defending your azz and yall can't even make the damn playoffs)

"The series follows one of the NFL's biggest and most outspoken stars, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, Terrell "T.O." Owens. In the series, T.O. will be shadowed in the off-season by his best friends and publicists Monique Jackson and Kita Williams as they battle the two sides of his large personality. Viewers will discover that behind all the braggadocio, emotional histrionics, and sculpted physique that is the outspoken media magnet known to the world as "T.O." -- there is also a quiet, sensitive, mild-mannered guy from Alexander City, Alabama...that's Terrell." EntrePoNukka Tip of the Week

Check out this new book entitled "Barack, Inc.: Winning Business Lessons of the Obama Campaign". The following is a description of the book.
What can business leaders learn from Barack Obama's improbable victory? A great deal, says this brief, readable book, which spells out the lessons of the Obama campaign and goes on to illustrate them, citing companies that have used similar techniques to succeed. Obama ran a nearly flawless campaign that stayed on message, attracted tens of thousands of dedicated volunteers, and collected a record flood of dollars from donors large and small. But his triumph was also to use social networking to create a vast online community that has changed politics forever. And that's precisely what businesses need to do. In a soundbyte, Obama's threefold approach was (1) to keep his cool, (2) to apply to politics the social technologies of the Internet, including blogs, texting, and viral videos, and (3) to embody in himself the change that he meant to bring to the country. None of these goals are as simple as they sound. Barack, Inc., not only spells them out clearly but offers actionable lessons that businesspeople can apply, beginning tomorrow. "Change" has become a tired political cliche, but Obama gave it new life by persuading a solid majority of voters that he could lead them to a whole new kind of politics and government, transcending the petty partisanship of recent years. And he himself embodied that change. "We are the ones we've been waiting for," he told his rallies. "We are the change we seek...Let's go change the world." Just so, says this important book, business leaders must embrace change and become the change they offer. Only then will their constituencies -- shareholders, employees, suppliers, customers -- follow them to achieve it. But having done that, their companies will have become communities -- and the authors tell us that community, in addition to products and profits, is what business is about in the Web 2.0 world of the 21st century.

Swagger Like DLR

It was revealed today that hip-hop heavyweights Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and T.I. will be joining forces next month to perform their hit “Swagga Like Us” at the 51st annual Grammy Awards. The song, which features a sample from another Grammy nominated song - M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes”- is vying for a trophy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo or Group. (Big moment for hip hop)

WHAT'S MY INSPIRATION?!?!?!

Well, well, well,, Looks like Kenyon Martin and Trina are going to tie the knot. The happy couple has said that it was President Barack Obama and the First Lady that inspired them. Hell after looking at that body why did he even need any inspiration? Trina is PHAT as HELL!!!!!!!! That would be the motivation, inspiration, infatuation, etc. that DLR needed..

Great Pics from Inaugaration Day
